Freelance Researchers
At Mintel, we are looking to build and develop our network of research consultants around the world who are available to work on a freelance basis, primarily to support commissioned bespoke market intelligence research projects.
Candidates can be located in any major city, but must be fluent in English and have computer and internet access.
Freelance Researchers can be expected to undertake a wide variety of tasks and should have existing experience in any of the following disciplines:
Desk research - visiting local libraries, researching relevant trade and business press.
Market analysis/report writing - interpretation of numerical data; providing insightful explanations to trends in market data. Identification of market drivers and constraints, together with analysis of how each factor's weighting varies between sectors and over time. (Micro analysis)
influencing markets at country level. (Macro analysis)
Primary research (telephone interviewing) - canvassing industry opinion by interviewing manufacturers, retailers, trade associations, importers and other industry participants/observers. Competent and confident telephone manner; tenacity.
Numerical analysis - to interpret and analyse market intelligence data being retrieved (from desk research and primary research). This may require intelligent estimating. Ability to understand and work with numbers and attention to detail is critical.
Storechecks - visiting stores, listing products by category and recording brand details (brand name, manufacturers, wholesaler/importer, pack size, pack price )
